
Asheville Adds Stokes

GREENVILLE, S.C., March 2 â The Asheville Altitude has acquired guard Leonard Stokes and waived center James Lang, according to an announcement by NBDL director of basketball operations Chris Alpert and Altitude coach Joey Meyer.
A 6-5, 185-pound rookie from Cincinnati ('03), Stokes edged out former UC teammate and current Fayetteville guard Kenny Satterfield for the 1999 New York Mr. Basketball Award. He averaged 15.4 points and 4.9 rebounds as a senior at Cincinnati. His most recent playing experience is with the Harlem Globetrotters.
Since being acquired by the Altitude on Feb. 18, Lang played in three games (one start) and averaged 18.0 minutes, 4.7 points and 4.0 rebounds.
Stokes is expected to see his first action with the Altitude in Friday's home game against Fayetteville.
