Charleston Lowgators News Release

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C.. (November 13, 2002) – The North Charleston Lowgators have finalized their 10-man roster, announced today by Head Coach Doug Marty. College of Charleston graduate Sedric Webber is the lone returning player from the Lowgators inaugural season squad that advanced to the 2002 NBDL Finals.

Eight players on the 10-man roster were acquired during the NBDL Draft on October 31, including rookies David Dixon, C (Washington), TJ McKenzie, C (Rice) and Larry Reid, PG (Kansas State). Former College of Charleston standout Thaddeous Delaney joins the team as the Lowgators' allocated player.

The Lowgators trimmed their roster from 15 to 10 by waiving Neil Edwards, F (York College), Nate Green, G (Indiana State), Nate James, SF (Duke), Travis Robinson, G (Jacksonville) and Galen Young, SF (University of North Carolina Charlotte).

"It's never easy releasing players," commented Lowgators Head Coach Doug Marty. "It was particularly tough this season with the talent level as exceptional as it is and evenly distributed throughout the league. However, we needed to make the difficult decisions that would lead to depth and balance at every position. Coach Upshaw and I are excited about working with this group of players and we look forward to the opener this Friday."

The Lowgators begin their home schedule Sunday, November 17 with the Lowgators' Kids' Opening Day. With the purchase of one (1) adult $13.00 ticket, up to three (3) children (ages 3-12) will receive free admission to the game, courtesy of Clear Channel Radio.

The home opener is a rematch of last year's NBDL Finals against the defending champion Greenville Groove at the North Charleston Coliseum. Lowgators season tickets are currently on sale. For information, call (843) 460-1000 or visit www.northcharlestonlowgators.com.
