First 1,000 Fans to Receive Free T-Shirts and Posters Opening Night

COLUMBUS, Ga., (November 13, 2002)- The Columbus Riverdragons of the NBDL, the NBA's own minor league, have placed individual game tickets on sale for the 2002-03 NBDL season. Riverdragons tickets are an excellent entertainment option for basketball fans and families alike, with 75% of the seats at the Civic Center priced at $8 or less. Individual game ticket prices for the Riverdragons 2002-03 season are $25, $16, $12, and $8.

The Riverdragons will also offer the Rivvy D Special, named after the team's popular mascot. The Rivvy D Special is a $5 kid's (12 & under) ticket, good for any available seat at the Civic Center. The Rivvy D Special allows children 12 & under to sit in Lower Bowl A ($16 per ticket) and Lower Bowl B ($12 per ticket) for just $5. The Rivvy D Special is available for all 25 of the Riverdragons home games during the 2002-03 season.

Fans have several options to purchase tickets to come see the NBA's stars of tomorrow, today, at the Columbus Civic Center. Tickets are now available via the NBA Ticket Hotline at 1-800-4NBA-TIX, the Civic Center Box Office (Mon. – Fri., 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.), all Ticketmaster outlets including Publix Supermarkets and online at columbusriverdragons.com. The Riverdragons home opener is slated for Friday, November 22 against the Roanoke Dazzle at the Columbus Civic Center at 7 p.m. The first 1,000 fans will receive a free Come See Who's Next! T-Shirt and a free 2002-03 Riverdragons Schedule Poster.

Sunday, November 24 is 8 Crazy Nights night at the Civic Center at 6 p.m. with the first 1,000 fans to receive an 8 Crazy Nights mini-poster. Other give-away items promoting Columbia Pictures 8 Crazy Nights with Adam Sandler will include passes to see the film, T-shirts, hats,

The league offers players the opportunity to develop their talent in a highly competitive atmosphere under the NBA's umbrella. 9 NBDL players, three coaches and three game officials have been called up to the NBA since the start of the league's inaugural season in November 2001.

Designed to help grow the sport of basketball both domestically and internationally, the NBDL serves as a source of on-court talent for the NBA's 29 teams and as a diverse human resources pool for the NBA and its teams by training employees in management, operations, public relations, sales and marketing positions.
