Loux returns to Salt Lake, Fish reassigned to Rancho Cucamonga

SALT LAKE CITY (August 29, 2009) - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announced today that the club has designated right-handed pitcher Shane Loux for assignment with Triple-A Salt Lake. To make room for Loux on the Bees roster, Salt Lake reassigned left-handed pitcher Robert Fish to Single-A Rancho Cucamonga.

Loux, 29, has appeared in 18 games (six starts) for the Angels in 2009, owning a 2-3 record with a 5.86 ERA with 19 strikeouts. In a previous rehab appearance with the Bees this season, he owns a 1-2 record with a 4.24 ERA with nine strikeouts. The Rapid City, S.D. native signed with the Angels as a free agent in 2008.

Fish, 21, has appeared in one game of relief for the Bees in 2009. In 13 games for Rancho Cucamonga this season, he owns a 1-6 record with a 6.65 ERA and 48 strikeouts. The Montclair, Calif. native was originally selected by the Angels in the sixth round of the 2006 draft.

The Salt Lake Bees continue the team's final road trip of the season tonight against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox at 7:05 p.m. The Bees return home for the final four regular season games of 2009 on Friday, September 4 at 7:05 p.m. at Spring Mobile Ballpark.
