Lounsbury Named Frank-J.-Selke Trophy Finalist

The QMJHL continues to honour its own through the Golden Puck Awards. Today, the finalists for the Frank-J.-Selke Trophy, presented to the Most Sportsmanlike Player while also being effective.

The three finalists are:

Justin Larose, Victoriaville Tigres

In his third QMJHL season, Larose saw his production rise from 24 to 80 points, making him the Tigres' leading scorer. He also led the team with 38 goals (5th in the QMJHL) and 17 power-play goals, ranking second in the league in that department. Finishing ninth in league scoring, Larose totaled just 26 penalty minutes in 68 games.

Preston Lounsbury, Moncton Wildcats

The Wildcats' top playmaker with 38 assists, Lounsbury finished fourth on the team in scoring with 57 points. On top of ending the season with a +10 differential, his seven power-play goals earned him second place in that category for the Wildcats. In his second full QMJHL season, the 5'11", 172 lb. center totaled only 6 penalty minutes.

Julien Paillé, Baie-Comeau Drakkar

This was Paillé's first full season in Baie-Comeau, following a 15-game stint in Gatineau two years ago. Paillé helped the Drakkar win the regular season championship with a total of 27 goals and 26 assists for a total of 53 points, sixth in club scoring. His 27 goals tied him with captain Isaac Dufort for third place. Author of a +24 differential, Paillé spent just 12 minutes in the penalty box this season.
