FORT MILL, S.C. - The Charlotte Knights lost a slugfest to the Louisville Bats 11-7 at Knights Stadium. The win gave the Bats the series and dropped to the Knights to 51-49 through the first 100 games of the season.

Charlotte put a crooked number on the board in the 2nd inning as they scored four runs with the big hit coming from a 2-RBI double off the bat of Buck Coats. The Knights were later able to add solo home runs from Luis Rodriguez, Fernando Cortez and Stefan Gartrell. For Gartrell it was his team leading 18th home run of the season.

Louisville used the home run ball to hurt the Knights all series and it continued in the series finale. The Bats hit four home runs of their own including two in the third inning. Reliever Jared Burton (2-2) earned the win for the Bats and Knights pitcher Freddy Dolsi (2-4) took the loss.

The Knights start an eight game road trip tomorrow in Indianapolis at 7:15 PM. RHP Brandon Hynick (1-0, 5.25 ERA) will pitch for the Knights, Indianapolis will start RHP Mike Crotta (4-5, 4.78 ERA).
