Louisiana Beats Mississippi Surge 1-0 as Smiley Gains Shutout

The Louisiana IceGators used a sparkling performance by Kiefer Smiley to take down Mississippi Surge, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Louisiana's 1-0 shutout victory.

Adam Stuart's game-winning tally was the game's only goal. It came at 5:36 in the third period. Jake Trask assisted on the tally.The IceGators were led by Stuart, who had one goal.

Louisiana managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The IceGators ended up below its season average of 14.0 penalty minutes per game. Louisiana could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The IceGators put an average of 3.6 pucks into the net per game. Louisiana was steadier on the defensive front than it has been for much of this season. The IceGators average 2.7 goals allowed per game.
