North Carolina FC News Release

INDIANAPOLIS - North Carolina FC fell at Indy Eleven, 2-1, on Saturday, April 27, with Louis Perez scoring the lone goal of the game for the visitors.

The two sides finished even on shots at seven apiece, with possession being split nearly exactly 50/50. NCFC held a narrow 4-2 advantage in shots on target.

After a scoreless first half, Indy jumped out to a 1-0 lead following an own goal from a free kick, but the advantage was short lived as Perez tied the game just three minutes later.

Rafa Mentzingen got the ball on the right wing and swung in an inch-perfect cross to the back post to find Perez for the equalizer in the 51'.

Indy retook the lead in the 75', converting from a free kick for a second time in the game. Jack Blake, who served the ball leading to the own goal, clipped the ball into the far post and Callum Chapman-Page put the ball back across goal for Douglas Martínez to put home.

Match Notes

Rafa Mentzingen assisted a headed goal with a cross for the second game in a row, finding Louis Perez at the far post in the 51' minute.

Louis Perez is the first NCFC player to score multiple goals in the 2024 USL Championship season. Seven different NCFC players have scored this season.

NCFC conceded an own goal for the third time this season.
