Loudoun United FC have acquired forward Kyle Murphy for the club's inaugural season pending league and federation approval.

"We are thrilled to add another exciting attacking player to our roster ahead of the opener. Kyle has been in the USL for the last couple of years and we're looking forward to using his experience and understanding of the league in our inaugural season."

Murphy joins Loudoun United FC after spending three years in the USL Championship. The forward has scored 11 goals and recorded three assists in 71 USL Championship appearances. He started his professional career with Rio Grande Valley FC Toros when he signed on March 26, 2016 and made 24 appearances for the Toros in his debut season. He went on to score 10 goals and record three assists in 55 USL appearances for Rio Grande Valley FC Toros.

On May 10, 2018, he signed with San Antonio FC as a free agent. Murphy scored one goal in 16 USL Championship appearances in 2018. He played 68 minutes in in San Antonio's 4-0 win against Midland-Odessa FC in the second round of the 2018 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on May 17, 2018

Murphy, originally from Red Hook, N.Y., played five years of NCAA Division I Men's Soccer at Clemson University (2011-2015). In 2014, Clemson won the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Men's Soccer Tournament Championship.
