Loudoun United FC News Release

Loudoun United have acquired goalkeeper Simon Lefebrve ahead of the 2020 season.

"Simon is a skilled goalkeeper with great size and passing ability," Head Coach, Ryan Martin, said. "After spending all of preseason with the first team he showed a tremendous ceiling as a professional athlete and is excited to start his career here."

Lefebrve is a native of Ossun, France, and was a member of the Girondins de Bordeaux academy in France from 2010-2016. The goalkeeper made 18 appearances with Bordeaux's reserve team before committing to play collegiately at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pa.

In his collegiate career, Lefebvre recorded 122 saves, seven shutouts and had a 1.21 goals against average in 35 appearances. In the first round of the American Athletic Conference playoffs, Lefebvre made three crucial saves in overtime to lead his team to a 2-1 victory over Memphis. With the victory, the Frenchman extended his streak of conceding one goal or less to 14 straight games.

Following a successful two seasons with Temple University, Lefebvre was selected 21st overall by D.C. United in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft. The 22-year-old spent the 2020 preseason with D.C. United before signing with Loudoun.
