Monarchs Assigned Spencer Watson by Los Angeles Kings

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Manchester Monarchs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Rich Seeley, announced today that Spencer Watson has been assigned to the team from the Ontario Reign (AHL) by the Los Angeles Kings (NHL).

The Monarchs are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Los Angeles Kings.

Watson, 21, comes to the Monarchs after playing eight games this season with the Reign where he did not score a point. During the 2016-17 season, Watson played 41 games for the Mississauga Steelheads (OHL) where he scored 53 points on 28 goals and 25 assists. Watson also played 20 playoff games for the Steelheads where he scored 25 points on 15 goals and 10 assists.

Watson was drafted by the Kings (#209 overall) in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

The 5-foot-10, 170-pound native of London, Ontario, played a combined 274 games in the OHL between the Steelheads and Kingston Frontenacs, and scored 301 points on 147 goals and 154 assists, adding a +99 rating and 88 penalty minutes. While playing for the Frontenacs, Watson was named to the OHL First All-Rookie Team.

Watson and the Monarchs hit the ice Wednesday, Nov. 22 (9:05 p.m.) in West Valley City, UT, to take on the Utah Grizzlies for the first time in franchise history.
