
Los Angeles' Gerald Green Signs with New Jersey Nets

NEW YORK, Feb. 27, 2012 - The New Jersey Nets today signed Gerald Green of the Los Angeles D-Fenders for the 28th GATORADE Call-Up of the 2011-12 NBA Development League season. Green joins nearly 100 NBA players with NBA D-League experience currently on 2011-12 rosters.
In 22 games, 13 starts, with the D-Fenders this season, Green (6-8, 200) averaged 19.1 points and 4.6 rebounds in 30.6 minutes. The 2012 NBA D-League All-Star Game Most Valuable Player, Green scored 28 points in 24 minutes during NBA All-Star festivities in Orlando.
Originally selected in the first round (!8th overall) by the Boston Celtics in the 2005 NBA Draft, Green has appeared in 181 regular season NBA games, averaging 7.5 points in 16.0 minutes.
Green is expected to join the Nets this afternoon in Dallas and be available for the matchup with the Mavericks on Tuesday at American Airlines Center.
