Bighorns Ahearn, Emmett Compete in All-Star Weekend

RENO, NEV.- Reno Bighorns Blake Ahearn and Andre Emmett competed in NBA D-League All-Star activities over the weekend, including the 2012 NBA D-League All-Star Game presented by 26 Seconds on Saturday. In the All-Star game, Ahearn had 21 points and eight assists, including 15 points in the final four minutes of the game to seal the 135-132 victory for the West. Fresh off a 10-day contract with the New Jersey Nets, Emmett scored 15 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field.

In the 3-Point Shooting Competition, Ahearn led all shooters with 27 points in the first round but fell to reigning 3-Point Shooting Competition champion, Texas Legend's Booker Woodfox, in the final round with a score of 26-20.

Emmett participated in the NBA D-League Haier Shooting Stars Competition, teaming up with Tyren Johnson (Rio Grande Valley Vipers) and Elijah Millsap (Los Angeles D-Fenders), but failed to reach the final round.

Former Bighorn Jeremy Lin competed in the NBA Rising Stars Challenge which features the league's top rookies and sophomores. Lin started for Team Shaq but was held to two points, one assist and one rebound in eight minutes in a 146-133 loss to Team Chuck.

Bighorns All-Stars Ahearn and Emmett return to Reno to play a two-game series against the Bakersfield Jam on March 3 and 4 at the Reno Events Center. Both games are set to tip-off at 7 p.m.
