
Los Angeles battles late but Utah takes the win

Los Angeles, CA - Despite being short-handed, the Los Angeles D-Fenders came out strong and rallied late in the game. The Utah Flash sealed the win 118-110, Friday night at STAPLES Center.
Utah took an early lead, closing the first quarter with a 34-27 advantage over the D-Fenders. The Flash shot 66.7% from the field, with starter Luke Nevill leading both teams with 12 points. Frank Robinson carried the D-Fenders with eight points to finish the period.
The D-Fenders headed into the locker room trailing their opponent by nine, ending the first half 65-56. The Flash extended their lead by as many as 11 points in the second quarter. D-Fenders' Frank Robinson and Joe Crawford both brought in 10 points in the second quarter, keeping the D-Fenders within single digits at the end of the half.
The third quarter came to a close with the D-Fenders behind by six, 92-86. With less than five minutes to go in the quarter, Michael Fey poured in two free throws, cutting the home team deficit to only two points. Although Utah kept the lead, Los Angeles outscored Utah 30-27 in the third quarter.
Los Angeles rallied in the final quarter, bringing the score within two points but Utah maintained the upper-hand and outscored their opponent 26-24 in the period. Crawford posted 11 points and 3 rebounds in the final quarter but former teammate Gabe Pruitt battled back to score 14 in the fourth, giving Utah the edge.
D-Fenders Crawford and Robinson led their team with 24 points apiece. Teammate Dar Tucker contributed with 19 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
The Utah Flash had seven players score in double figures. Reserve guard, Gabe Pruitt led his team with 21 points, while teammate Orien Greene added 19 points and eight rebounds.
