
Lopez rockets Flyers to victory

Kansas City, KS - The Schaumburg Flyers (9-10, 40- 26) snatched game one from the Kansas City T- Bones after Josue Lopez led off the ninth with a laser beam to the lawn seats in right center field giving the Flyers a 2-1 lead and eventually the win. It was Lopez's 8th homer of the season.
Raymond Jenkins pitched another gem for the Flyers. Jenkins threw six innings, giving up just one run on four hits while striking out seven. It is the fourth great outing in a row by Flyers starting pitching.
Matt Schweitzer picked up the win for Schaumburg pitching two innings and giving up only 2 hits. Nate Cotton made his first appearance of the 7-game road trip and picked up his 14th save.
Rob Watson and Eric Cole made their return to the starting lineup. Watson went 3-4 with a run scored and Cole went 1-4. His double play ball in the third resulted in the Flyers first run.
Rob Marconi and Tim Marks each got two hits as seven Schaumburg hitters combined for 11 hits.
Kansas City (8-11, 30-37) starter Greg Bicknell pitched a complete game but took the loss.
