Chattanooga Lookouts News Release
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - On Wednesday afternoon, the Lookouts came through with a 5-4 come-from-behind victory against Huntsville.
Chattanooga did not waste any time getting on the board, as a leadoff solo shot from Shaun Cumberland gave the Lookouts the early lead.
Huntsville quickly countered in the second on a Freddy Parejo RBI single in the second.
In what would prove to be the game's motif, Chattanooga reclaimed the lead in the second on starting pitcher Ben Jukich's RBI single, which was prefaced by a Daniel Dorn double.
Huntsville, once again, tied the game in the third. This time a Michael Brantley solo shot knotted the score up.
The Stars finally took the lead in the sixth off of a two-run homer from Matt LaPorta's bat. Huntsville now possessed a 4-2 lead.
Doubles from Drew Anderson and Chris Denove in the sixth resulted in a run for the Lookouts.
The Lookouts' gradual approach to scoring kept rolling in the sixth, as they added one more run to tie the game up, 4-4, in the seventh.
With two outs already on the board, Shaun Cumberland nailed a single in the ninth to begin what would become the game-winning rally. Eric Eymann followed with a double to advance Cumberland to third. Sean Henry then came through with a clutch, game-ending line drive down the third base line to give the Lookouts a 5-4 win.
Carlos Fisher (1-4) pitched the final three frames in shutout fashion to earn the win for the Lookouts.
Patrick Ryan (1-2) took the loss for Huntsville.
Chattanooga will hit the road to play a five-game series against the Tennessee Smokies, tomorrow. After a subsequent trip to West Tennessee, the Lookouts will return to AT&T Field on June 17th to play a five-game series against Carolina. Tickets for these games or any other Lookouts home game can be purchased at the Lookouts Box Office at AT&T Field, online at www.lookouts.com, or by calling (423) 267-4849.
