
Lookouts Fall to Smokies on Fireworks Friday

The Chattanooga Lookouts fell to the Tennessee Smokies 4-1 on a Fireworks Friday at AT&T Field.
For the second straight home game, the Lookouts struck first. Tonight the first run came across the plate in the first inning on a James Free sacrifice fly. A game-tying homer in the second by Christian Franklin made it 1-1, Smokies.
The teams traded zeros until the top of the sixth inning. Tennessee infielder Matt Shaw tripled home Kevin Alcantara to break the tie. They added another run in the seventh and one in the eighth to extend their lead to three.
In the loss, Lookouts pitcher Zach Maxwell struck out three batters in 1.2 innings. He now has 2.2 scoreless innings on the year with six strikeouts.
Tomorrow is a doubleheader starting at 5:15 p.m. Starting pitcher Sam Benschoter will go game one and Julian Aguiar will pitch game two.
