Chattanooga Lookouts News Release

After winning the first half championship, the Lookouts begin the second half on the wrong end of the scoreboard, as they fall to the Carolina Mudcats 5-0. Mudcats' starter Anibal Sanchez mesmerized the Chattanooga offense through nine innings, as he scattered seven hits en route to the complete game shutout.

The Mudcats got off to a fast start as they put four runs on the board in the first two innings. Edgar Gonzalez tattooed a Tyler Pelland offering over the left-field wall to give the Mudcats an early lead. In the second, Carolina put three runs on the board on three hits, with the help of a Lookouts error. With the score 4-0 in the sixth, the Mudcats put the final touches on the victory when Brett Carroll doubled home J.C. Muniz.

The Lookouts bats never got going as they managed seven hits over nine innings. Lookouts' starter Tyler Pelland went six innings and allowed five runs, three earned, on six hits. His record now stands at 4-2.

The Lookouts will try to right the ship tomorrow night as they take on the Carolina Mudcats in game two of this five game series. First pitch is scheduled for 7:15 and the gates will open at 5:30.
