The Lakeland Magic, NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, snapped their season high four-game winning streak with a 125-111 loss to the Long Island Nets on Sunday night at the RP Funding Center.

Six players scored in double figures led by John Petrucelli who tallied a game-high 18 points. Troy Caupain recorded 17 points, four rebounds and three assists, while BJ Johnson collected 16 points and four rebounds. Amile Jefferson and Antonio Campbell added 14 points apiece and Gabe York posted 13 points.

Long Island had assignment player Dzanan Musa on hand who poured in a game-high 27 points, six rebounds and six assists. Kamari Murphy came off the bench to record a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Theo Pinson posted 22 points, while Jordan McLaughlin had 18 points and six rebounds.

It was a back and forth contest until the Nets took the lead with 9:30 remaining on the clock in the first quarter. Long Island would break away, scoring eight straight points and increase their lead to 12-points with 6:47 left in the first quarter. It was all Long Island in the second quarter as well, outscoring the Magic 37-16 to lead by 28-points heading into the locker room.

The Magic defense came to life in the second half. Lakeland scored 31 points in the quarter while holding the Nets to 26 points. Lakeland continued the momentum in the fourth quarter and cut the Nets lead to 12-points with 5:14 left in the game. The Magic would outscore the Nets 31-22 in the fourth but it wasn't enough to overcome the first half deficit. The win was largely in part to the Nets shooting 45.7 percent from the three-point line, compared to Lakeland's 24.2 percent. The Magic and Nets now split the contest with one victory apiece.

The Magic are back home again on Tuesday, December 11. The game will be at the RP Funding Center at 7PM, as the Magic face off against the Westchester Knicks.
