
Long Island Gains 13th Consecutive Win Over Austin

AUSTIN - The Long Island Nets (19-3) earn their 13th consecutive win as they best the Austin Spurs (6-16), 117-96, at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park on Sunday night.
Chaundee Brown Jr. led the Spurs with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Brandon Randolph had 15 points and 5 rebounds. Jordan Murphy added 14 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.
Long Island jumped out to a quick advantage and built a 29-20 lead after the first quarter. As both teams traded buckets in the second period, Austin shot 42.9% from the field while Long Island shot 45.2% from the field that put the Nets up by 10, 57-47, to end the first half. Austin fought back in the second half, cutting the deficit to five, 61-66, midway through the third quarter, but it wouldn't get any closer. The Nets outscored the Spurs 32-29 in the third frame and maintained the lead into the fourth, outscoring Austin 28-20 to seal the win.
David Duke Jr. led Long Island with 23 points and 6 rebounds while RaiQuan Gray claimed a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds. Jordan Bowden chipped in 21 points.

Austin will face the Birmingham Squadron on Thursday, March 2 at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park with a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
