LONG BEACH, Calif. (Oct. 7, 2004) - The American Basketball Association (ABA) Long Beach Jam franchise has signed point guard Percy Miller, better known as Master P, President Steve Chase announced today.

"In addition to Master P's musical talents and widespread popularity, he brings considerable floor general skills to our team," Chase said.

With the Las Vegas Rattlers last season, Miller averaged 16 points and seven assists in three games against the Jam, highlighted by a 22-point, nine-assist, four-rebound and four-steal performance in Las Vegas.

Miller underwent an extensive training program this summer that lead to an invitation to the Sacramento Kings pre-training camp workouts.

As the CEO of No Limit Records, Miller created a hip-hop empire. For several years, he operated solely in the rap underground, eventually surfacing in the mid-1990s as a rapper and producer with such hits as "I Got the Hookup"and "Make Them Say Unhh." Today, Miller is one of the most successful rapper/producers to ever live.

Miller also is the father of rap star Romeo, a star basketball player at Windward High School in Los Angeles. Romeo is one of the top-rated basketball players in the state.

The Jam are holding open basketball tryouts this Sunday, Oct. 10 at the Pyramid in Long Beach beginning at 11 a.m. To tryout, please call 562-799-8100 for more information.
