Queens News Release
Brooklyn, NY. Marsha Blount and Sherman Givens, Co-owners of the ABA Brooklyn 2005 expansion team today announced that two former pro legends have joined as Special Consultants to the team. They are:
Mr. James "Fly" Williams, a former ABA legend, who played with the Spirits of St. Louis during the 1974-1975 season. "Fly" as he is known in the basketball community, is a product of the great Brooklyn tradition and currently conducts basketball clinics and workshops at the Brownsville Recreation Center (The BRC) for the children of the community.
Mr. Greg "Jacko" Jackson is a former NBA player who played with several NBA teams during his career including the original Buffalo Braves, the NY Knicks and the Phoenix Suns. Also a product of Brooklyn basketball, "Jacko" operates the BRC, a family oriented sports facility that focuses on the wellness of the community through its various programs for children and adults. According to Coach Sherman, "The relationships within the Brooklyn community that Fly and Jacko bring to the team are invaluable to us - and to the youth of the area. They're kind, generous and knowledgable and we consider ourselves fortunate to have them as part of our team."
