La Crosse Loggers News Release
The La Crosse Loggers concluded their road trip with a loss to the Rochester Honkers, who walked it off in the bottom of the 10th inning.
The contest was an offensive showdown, with each team pacing each other in the hit column. Leading the way for the Honker's bats was Tyler White (Long Beach State), who entered the game for an injured Alex Pimental (Long Beach State). White went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI, coming during a 5-run rally in the 3rd.
Luke Leto (LSU) had a big performance for the Lumberman, going a perfect 3-for-3 with a 2-run homer in the 6th inning. Carson Hornung also went yard for the second time this summer, extending his hitting streak to a franchise-record 23 games.
Despite nearly blowing a 6-run lead, the Honkers finished strong in extras. The bottom of the 10th started with Alex Ritzer (North Carolina) reaching on a throwing error, which advanced Theo Hardy (San Jose State) to third base. Hardy proceeded to score on a wild pitch to secure the victory.
The Loggers will return home to La Crosse this evening to finish their series with the Honkers. It will be "Toppers Family Night" at the ballpark, which includes 4 tickets, 4 fountain drinks, and 1 Toppers Pizza for $40. The first pitch is set for 6:35pm CT at Copeland Park.
