Northern Colorado Owlz News Release
Brandon Lodge gave the Owlz three innings of fantastic baseball, but the rest of the Owlz pitching struggled for the fourth time in five games in a 11-6 loss to the Ogden Raptors.
Mark Sappington made his professional debut, but failed to get out of the 1st inning, surrendering five runs on five hits in just two-thirds of an inning. Aaron Newcomb also made his debut, giving up three runs, two earned in 2.1 innings.
For the second straight night, the Raptors scored in the first inning, but this time, it was five runs that came across in the first frame. An inning later, Ogden scored three more to put Orem in a 8-0 hole.
Caleb Bushyhead provided most of the punch with two RBI groundouts, while Kyle Johnson and Michael Bolaski had two hits apiece.
Brandon Lodge was the star of the night, providing some much needed innings out of the bullpen. He fired three innings, giving up just one unearned run.
The Owlz will look to win game three of the best of four series on Saturday night. There will be a schedule slap bracelet giveaway, as well as a SportClips Saturday.
On Sunday, the Owlz will be providing some much needed relief for all families and personnel affected by the fire. Every individual affected by the fire will be granted free entrance into the stadium. Spend Sunday at the ballpark and have a good time in a very difficult situation.
