April 26, 2011 - United Football League (UFL 1)
Las Vegas Locomotives News Release
LAS VEGAS, NV - Tuesday, April 26, 2011 - All-purpose running back J.J. ARRINGTON, a four-year veteran with the Arizona Cardinals is among the highlights on the Reserve Unsigned list of the Las Vegas Locos of the United Football League.
The five teams of the United Football League have each released 10-man Reserve Unsigned lists, claiming the UFL rights to Veteran Street Free Agents for the 2011 season.
These players join 40 Protected Players who saw action for their respective teams in 2010 and were announced on April 6. The forthcoming 2011 UFL Draft and subsequent free agency period will allow teams to increase their rosters to the 70-man limit ahead of 2011 UFL training camps.
"I'm impressed with the talent but more importantly with the person and the passion and competitiveness they all have," said head coach JIM FASSEL. "I'm very pleased with the list of players because we research players carefully and talk to them to make sure they are our kind of guys.
"We don't have to talk anyone into coming to play with us. They all want to be on this team. They all have NFL experience and will be an asset to the team."
Former Chicago Bears defensive back KEVIN PAYNE and tight end JAMIE PETROWSKI, who was a productive player in 2007 for the Frankfurt Galaxy in NFL Europe, are joined by Arrington, who was selected in the second round of the 2005 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals.
"They all have NFL experience that will help our team," added Fassel. "Arrington has been a proven commodity in the NFL and is coming off an injury, so this is the ideal situation for him."
