
Local Tryouts to be Held on Saturday

Edinburg, TX - The Edinburg Coyotes of United League Baseball (ULB) will be holding open tryouts 9:00 a.m. tomorrow at Edinburg Baseball Stadium.
Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. followed by the tryout. Players interested in obtaining a position for the team must be over 18 years of age. The cost of the tryout is $25.00 per player and each attendee will receive an agenda for the day, an assigned number and a tryout camp T-shirt.
The tryouts will cover hitting, pitching, arm strength, defense and running. There is no pre-registration and all players must bring their own gear. The tryout is expected to end around noon.
"We're looking forward to local tryouts," Assistant GM Omar Ortiz said. "The tryout will give any player the opportunity to compete for a spot on the Coyote roster. I'm excited to see what's in store locally."
Any player who makes the cut at the end of the day will be invited to spring training which will begin on May 5 until the season opener on May 13. The Coyotes will kick off their 2008 campaign at home when they host the San Angelo Colts at 10:35 a.m.
