Aces Sign Five To 08' Roster

Alexandria, LA; April 25, 2008- The Alexandria Aces of United League Baseball (ULB) announced today they have signed pitchers Alexis Sosa, Chad Linder, catcher Sandy DeLeon, and outfielders Mike Diaz, Brandon Flythe to their 2008 roster.

Sosa a six foot one left hander joins the Aces pitching staff this season. Originally signed as non-drafted free agent by the Florida Marlins, Sosa spent five seasons in the Marlins farm system compiling a 4-5 record and a 4.04 ERA.

A native of Tyler, TX, Linder comes to the Aces after making his professional debut last year with the River City Rascals of the Frontier League. Linder finished the season with a 3-3 record and 5.03 ERA in 26 appearances.

Originally signed by the Seattle Mariners in 1994, DeLeon begins his 14th season in professional baseball and first with the Aces. While in affiliated baseball DeLeon had a career batting average of .285 in six seasons. Over the last seven seasons in Independent Baseball he has hit for an average of .261 spending most of his time in the Atlantic League.

Mike Diaz will be making his professional debut this season with the Aces. A native of Coral Spring, FL, Diaz will be patrolling the outfield as the Aces go after their third straight ULB Championship.

Outfielder Brandon Flythe joins the Aces for his first year in professional baseball. A graduate of Seton Hall University, Flythe resides in Avondale, PA.
