Brandon, MB. - The Brandon Wheat Kings, in association with Atom-Jet Group have announced the final Innovator of the Month Award winner for the 2014-15 Western Hockey League season.
The Brandon AA PeeWee Wheat Kings will be recognized at Friday's Western Hockey league game for capturing a Silver Medal at the prestigious 2015 Tournoi International de Hockey Peewee de Quebec.
One of over 120 teams that participated in this year's event, the peewees defeated several teams including San Jose, California and Switzerland en route to a heartbreaking overtime loss to St. Albert in the Championship.
The team, coached by Craig Anderson, Jason Thorpe, Marty Jordan and Doug Hunt currently sit atop the standings in the Hockey Winnipeg Peewee AA League, after capturing the Minor Peewee championship in 2014.

The local peewees will be introduced and presented with a commemorative plaque during the first intermission of Friday's game between the Wheat Kings and the visiting Saskatoon Blades.
As for Friday's game, the Wheat Kings enter the weekend with a record of 49-11-4-3 and tied with Kelowna for top spot in the Western Hockey League, with five games to play.
Friday's game, presented by Tim Hortons, is Brandon's second to last regular season game of the year.
