MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - Minneapolis native and nationally acclaimed artist Tim Mahoney will host a pregame concert at Champps Alley prior to the Lynx vs. Connecticut game this Friday, August 7. Mahoney's performance will highlight the third of four TGIF Block Parties. Mahoney will also sing Friday night's National Anthem. Mahoney reached stardom with his most recent CD Stay/Leave, released in 2007.

Mahoney's "Theme Song" was the winner of Ray Bans 'Never Hide' contest with Rolling Stone Magazine and MySpace.com, which gave him the opportunity to appear in the November 14, 2007 issue of Rolling Stone Magazine. Mahoney performed pool-side at the Rolling Stone 40th Anniversary Party at Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, NV with other recording artists such as Kanye West and Linkin Park.

Mahoney was later signed to Target's "Emerging Artist Program," which released his CD titled Stay/Leave to 500 Target stores located in 18 states throughout the United States. Mahoney is the first unsigned artist to ever be asked to be a part of Target's "Emerging Artist Program." In 12 years, Mahoney has put together seven CDs and a DVD of his live performances. Mahoney currently travels throughout the country performing nearly 150 shows every year to his fans.

Friday night's festivities will begin at 5:00 p.m., with Mahoney performing live at 5:30 p.m. at Champps. The Lynx's TGIF Block Party Series, presented by FS North, features music from local artists and great entertainment from some of the best venues in Minneapolis. The last TGIF Block Party will be prior to the August 28 Lynx vs. Sacramento game.

Lower-level tickets for Friday night and all remaining home games start at just $10 and can be purchased by calling 612-673-8400, emailing tickets@lynxbasketball.com, visiting the Target Center box office or by going to the Lynx website at www.lynxbasketball.com.
