B.C. Lions News Release

The BC Lions Football Club announced today that offensive lineman Sherko Haji-Rasouli has agreed to a contract extension keeping him in the Lions den through 2011.

"Sherko has been strong performer and I expect big things from him moving forward," said GM and head coach Wally Buono. "In addition to making an impact on the field with his play I also anticipate his emergence as a leader in the room."

A mainstay on the team's offensive line for the past two seasons, Haji-Rasouli played in 15 games last season making 12 starts. Overcoming injuries that cost him three games (Weeks 2, 5 and 6) he bounced back to finish strong and see action in both playoff contests.

Originally entering the CFL with the Montreal Alouettes via the 2002 CFL Draft (2nd round, 12th overall), Haji-Rasouli was signed as a free agent by the Lions in 2005 and has found a regular spot at right guard.
