B.C. Lions News Release
The BC Lions (3-5) host the Montreal Alouettes (7-1) Friday night at BC Place in a pivotal game for the club as they head into the second half of a difficult season to date. The Leos, like the Als, enter the contest coming off a bye week but unlike the Als the Lions will look to improve their record following a disappointing 37-10 home loss to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The Alouettes come to Vancouver looking to add to their East Division leading record following a 34-25 win over the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
The Alouettes have not experienced much success on the west coast since 2000 and come into Friday's game looking to break an eight-game losing streak versus the Lions who have struggled to a 1-3 start at home this season. The Lions, who have won nine of the last 12 games versus the Als, face the CFL's strongest club so far in 2009 for a two-game set which will move to Montreal for an afternoon tilt next Sunday.
