Lions Add Three to the Trenches

Vancouver - The BC Lions Football Club wrapped up its free agent signings today adding import offensive tackle Tavaris Jeffries along defensive linemen Daunte Akra and Edmon McClam.

Jeffries spent two seasons at Oklahoma and appeared in six games with the Sooners. He's recently had stints with the IFL's TriCity Fever as well as the Spokane Shock.

Akra signed as a free agent with the Montreal Alouettes in 2011, but was released enabling him to join the Detroit Lions. He rejoined the Als midway through the 2011 campaign. He was released following training camp in 2012.

McClam signed with the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent in 2012 following a three-year run at Old Dominion. The South Carolina native appeared in 35 games recording 39 tackles along with 11 sacks and was college teammates with current Leos back-up quarterback Thomas DeMarco.

First-year Lions hit the field in Kamloops for a three-day mini-camp beginning Thursday, May 30th running through Saturday, June 1st. The entire edition of the BC Lions will begin 2013 Training Camp presented by Sun Peaks Resort on Sunday, June 2 at Hillside Stadium.
