
Lions add local product Scott McCuaig

(Vancouver) The BC Lions Football Club announced today that defensive lineman Scott McCuaig has signed with the club.
McCuaig, a native of Surrey, BC who attended Holy Cross Secondary School and eventually went on to star at UBC was selected by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the 2009 CFL Canadian Draft. He was released by the Ti-Cats last week.
The former Thunderbird rush end led the CIS in sacks in 2007 with 11 which tied a Canada West record and earned a Canada West All-Star team berth. In 2008, he followed up with 9.5 sacks and eventually attained the Canada West record for career sacks (27.5) and career sack yards (174 yards) during in his four years at UBC.
