Linus Weissbach Listed by NHL Central Scouting on Final 2017 NHL Draft Rankings

Kearney, Neb. - NHL Central Scouting listed Tri-City Storm forward Linus Weissbach the 139th-ranked North American skater for the 2017 NHL Draft in the service's Final Rankings. Miami University forward Carson Meyer (TC: 2015-16), was rated #151 among North American skaters. NHL Central Scouting graded former Storm goaltender Dayton Rasmussen the #6 North American goaltender.

The list rates the top North American and international skaters and goalies eligible for the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. The draft is set for June 23-24, 2017, at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois home of the Chicago Blackhawks. 116

Weissbach led the Storm with 19 goals, 28 assists, 47 points and four game-winning goals in 49 games. He was second among USHL players with 37 points (16 goals) in 33 games from November 23 - March 11. The 5-foot-9, 168-lb. speedster is 18 years old, committed to Wisconsin, and a native of Gothenburg, Sweden. Weissbach was not ranked on NHL Central Scouting's Midterm Rankings.

Denver commit Dayton Rasmussen played for Tri-City from 2015-17 (43 GP with Storm) and was traded to Chicago in February. Rasmussen, 18, was also ranked the #6 North American Goaltender in NHL Central Scouting's Midterm Rankings. A 2016 Clark Cup Champion, Rasmussen finished his second USHL season with two shutouts, a 17-16-2-1 record, 2.45 goals against average and .912 save percentage in 38 games.

Meyer led Tri-City with 32 goals and 51 points in 2015-16. During the postseason, he tied for second on the team with five goals and finished fourth with 11 points. His combined 37 goals during the regular and playoffs was fourth-most in a Storm season. In his freshman season, Meyer led Miami freshmen with 10 goals and 26 points in 32 games.
