Ling and Nielsen Returned to Syracuse

Syracuse, NY (April 15, 2002) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today the Columbus Blue Jackets reassigned right wings David Ling and Chris Nielsen to Syracuse.

Ling, 27, appeared in 71 games with Syracuse this season recording 19 goals, a team-high 41 assists and team-high 240 penalty minutes. In five games with Columbus earlier in the season, Ling recorded seven penalty minutes. A native of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Ling was signed as a free agent by Columbus on July 10, 2001.

Nielsen, 22, played in 47 games this season with Syracuse, recording 12 goals, 12 assists and 18 penalty minutes. In 23 games this season with Columbus, Nielsen recorded two goals, three assists and four penalty minutes. A native of Moshi, Tanzania, Nielsen was acquired by Columbus from the New York Islanders for a 4th and 9th round selection in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.
