
Lindstrom Comes Out of Gate Strong

Center Joakim Lindstrom's professional career began on the right foot, with the rookie netting three goals in his first five games, including a game-tying goal with just ten seconds remaining in regulation on April 1 vs. Manitoba. Selected by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the second round, 41st overall, in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Lindstrom signed an amateur try-out contract with Syracuse, March 21 after appearing in 37 games with MoDo (Sweden). He made his professional debut March 25 @ Cleveland and scored his first professional goal March 30 vs. St. John's.
PLAYOFF RACE HEATS UP: Syracuse (75 points â 8 games remaining) enters this week five points behind the Hamilton Bulldogs (80 points â 6 games remaining) for the fourth and final playoff spot in the North Division. Edmonton (74 points â 6 games remaining) trails Syracuse by one point for fifth place and Cleveland (72 points â 7 games remaining) is three points behind the Crunch.
SHOOTOUT SUCCESS: Goaltender Karl Goehring improved to a perfect 7-0 in shootouts this season on March 30, stopping four-of-five St. John's shots. This season Goehring, who was recently featured in The Hockey News, has stopped 34-of-38 shootout attempts. Goehring has appeared in 42 games for the Crunch this season, posting a 20-19-0 mark with a 2.74 goals against average and a .906 save percentage. A native of Apple Valley, Minnesota, Goehring is the Crunch's all-time leader in wins at 60.
THIS WEEK'S OPPONENTS:
MANITOBA (VANCOUVER CANUCKS): Syracuse travels to Manitoba on Tuesday, April 5 and Wednesday, April 6 for the third and fourth of four regular season meeting between the teams this season. The series is tied at one, after Manitoba defeated Syracuse 3-2 in overtime on April 1 at the War Memorial at Oncenter. Center Brad Moran (2g, 1a) lead all players in head-to-head scoring with three points. Several Manitoba players are tied with two points each in head-t-head scoring. Karl Goehring has appeared in both games for Syracuse, posting a 1-1-0 record, a 3.02 gaa and a .917 save percentage. Alex Auld has appeared in both games for Manitoba, posting a 1-1-0 record, a 4.09 gaa and a .885 save percentage. Lifetime, the Crunch are 2-3-1 against the Moose.
CLEVELAND (SAN JOSE SHARKS): On Friday, April 8, Syracuse travels to Cleveland for the eighth and final regular season meeting between the teams this season. Syracuse leads the series 4-3, after Cleveland defeated Syracuse 3-1 on March 26 at Gund Arena. Right wing Joe Motzko (2g, 5a) leads all players with seven points in head-to-head scoring. Left wing Ryane Clowe (4g, 2a) leads the Barons in head-to-head scoring with six points. Karl Goehring appeared in five games for Syracuse, posting a 3-2-0 record, 2.34 gaa and .919 save percentage. Dimitri Patzold appeared in five games for Cleveland, posting a 2-2-1 record, a 1.78 gaa and a .947 save percentage. Lifetime, the Crunch are 19-11-1 against the Barons.
ROCHESTER (BUFFALO SABRES): Rochester visits Syracuse on Saturday, April 9 for the 11th of 12 regular season meetings between the teams this season. Rochester leads the series 6-2-2, after Rochester defeated Syracuse 4-3 in overtime on March 19 at the War Memorial at Oncenter. Right wing Jason Pominville (5g, 7a) leads all players with 12 points in head-to-head scoring. Center Brad Moran (1g, 6a) leads all Crunch players with seven points in head-to-head scoring. Karl Goehring has appeared in six games for Syracuse, posting a 2-4-0, a 3.22 gaa and a .896 save percentage. Ryan Miller has appeared in nine games for Rochester, posting a 5-1-2 record, a 2.14 gaa and a .936 save percentage. Lifetime, the Crunch are 46-62-14 against the Amerks.

Crunch Jersey Auction Begins: The Syracuse Crunch announced that their 2004-05 game-worn jersey auction has begun.
Available for the auction this year are the teams' home jerseys (blue color), road jerseys (white color), third jerseys (red color) and St. Patrick's Day jerseys (green color). All of the available Crunch jerseys can be viewed on the Crunch's official website (www.syracusecrunch.com).
Fans can bid on Syracuse's 2004-05 game-worn jerseys at remaining Crunch home games or on the Crunch's official website www.syracusecrunch.com/shop/jersey_auction_new.cfm.
Bids must be made in $20 increments (for example - if current bid is $500, bids of $520, $540, $560, etc... will be accepted)
All winning bids will be notified within 48 hours of the conclusion of the auction. The auction will conclude Wednesday, April 13 at 5 p.m.
Winners are responsible for shipping and handling costs. Jerseys are not autographed.

CRUNCHABLES: Right wing Tim Jackman moved into 10th on the club's all-time games played list at 205 on April 1 vs. Manitoba... Two days after scoring a game tying goal with nine seconds remaining in regulation (March 30 vs. St. John's â Joe Motzko), Syracuse scored with just ten seconds remaining Friday, April 1 against Manitoba (Joakim Lindstrom) to force overtime. The games came two weeks after Greg Mauldin scored with 1 second remaining to force an extra frame (March 18 vs. Wilkes-Barre)... Syracuse has earned a point in 10 of their last 13 contests (6-3-3-1)... Both Tim Jackman (203 penalty minutes) and defenseman Aaron Johnson (200) reached the 200 penalty minute career mark April 1 vs. Manitoba... Right wing Brandon Sugden became the fourth player in team history to surpass the 500 penalty minute mark on April 2.
