Phantoms Partner With ACS Relay For Life
April 4, 2005 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Adirondack Phantoms News Release
PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Phantoms of the American Hockey League have partnered with the American Cancer Society Relay For Life 2005. At the Phantoms' game against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers this Friday, April 8 at the Wachovia Spectrum, a portion of the money generated by tickets sold will go directly to local ACS Relay For Life efforts.
"We are very happy and proud that the Phantoms can partner with the American Cancer Society to raise money for such a noble cause," said Phantoms Vice President Jim Garino. "The Relay For Life is a great event and we encourage all fans in the area to come out to the game that night in a show of support."
Tickets for the game can be purchased by calling the Phantoms' sales office at (215) 465-4522 and referencing the ACS Relay For Life, or by logging onto www.phantomshockey.com. The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is an overnight community celebration where individuals and teams camp out, barbecue, dance, and take turns walking or running around a track "relay" style to raise funds to fight cancer. Now in its 20th year, Relay has spread to 4,500 communities in the United States and nine other countries and has raised over $1.3 billion for the fight against cancer. Relay For Life represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported and that one day cancer will be eliminated.
