Sugar Land Space Cowboys News Release

SUGAR LAND, Texas - The Sugar Land Skeeters won back-to-back games after Johan Limonta launched a 10th-inning home run to send the Skeeters past the Camden Riversharks, 5-4. The win bolsters the Skeeters record to 22-28 in the second half and 58-62 overall.

Much like the first three games of the series, Camden put up a two spot in the bottom of the first to take an early lead. Starting pitcher Roy Merritt gave up a two-out walk to Brandon Chaves before Carlos Guzman lifted a two-run home run to claim an early 2-0 advantage.

Travis Scott launched his third home run in as many games with a two run blast in the top of the third. Jeff Dominguez picked up a two-out single moments before Scott put Danny Herrera's 0-1 offering into orbit to tie the game at two.

The Skeeters took their first lead of the afternoon with a pair of runs in the top of the fifth. Renny Osuna singled with one out to spark a rally and Amadeo Zazueta drew a walk to move the go-ahead run into scoring position. Following a flyout, Scott loaded the bases after reaching on an error by the first baseman. Delwyn Young doubled home a pair to move the score to 4-2.

Camden responded with an unearned run of its own in the bottom of the inning to cut the lead in half. Eric Frain reached on a leadoff error and was bunted over to second on the ensuing at-bat. Michael Rockett singled home Frain with two outs to move the score to 4-3.

The Riversharks managed to tie the game in the bottom of the seventh. Frain legged out a leadoff triple against Cory VanAllen and came home to score on a sacrifice fly to left to tie the game at four. Manager Gary Gaetti and pitching coach Jeff Scott were ejected following the inning, leaving coach David McDaniel at the helm for the remainder of the game.

After squandering a scoring opportunity in the ninth, Limonta put the team on his back to give the Skeeters the lead for good. The Sugar Land left fielder blasted Dan Blewett's 2-1 offering to the bleachers in right to give the Skeeters a 5-4 advantage.

James Parr earned the win for Sugar Land with perfect ninth and tenth innings. The former member of the Atlanta Braves improved to 2-2 while fanning four in the winning effort.
