Las Vegas Lights FC News Release
(Las Vegas, NV) - Las Vegas Lights FC announced today the signing of Mexican youth international Bruce El-Mesmari, pending league and federation approval.
The 19-year-old winger signs with Las Vegas after shining in the youth system of C.F. Pachuca of Liga MX, where he was a fixture in their youth club since the age of 13. El-Mesmari helped win several trophies for Pachuca, earning a U-15 league championship, U-15 LIGA MX International tournament championship, U-17 league runner-up and U-20 league runner-up.
"Bruce embodies a lot of the principles and features we look for," said Las Vegas Lights FC Head Coach Steve Cherundolo. "He's already got a lot of football in him, which will really help us with the Lights."
The Cancun native has represented Mexico at the U-20, U-17 and U-15 levels, and delivered a breakout performance as a member of the U-17 Mexican squad that lost to Brazil 2-1 in the 2019 U-17 World Cup Final. El-Mesmari appeared in eight matches, making five starts in the tournament, registering an assist in the win over the Solomon Islands in the group stages.
Lights FC returns to Cashman Field next Wednesday, July 14th against the Sacramento Republic FC (kickoff at 7:30pm). "Summer of Soccer" pricing presented by Terrible Herbst remains with adult tickets starting at $10 and all kids tickets only $5. Tickets may be purchased at LightsFC.com/Tickets.
