Lightning Storm Leaves Rox Empty Handed
July 22, 2016 - Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL)
Brockton Rox News Release
Brockton entered Friday night 6th place in the league, good enough to make the playoffs. The Rox welcomed the third best team in the league, the Nashua Sliver Knights.
After a scoreless first inning, Nashua got enough run insurance in the 2nd to carry them through the game.
An error at first base and a wild pitch allowed 3 runs to score. Muse pitched well for the Rox, going 5 strong innings while allowing just 2 earned, but Brockton's bats weren't alive tonight as they picked up just one hit.
Nashua would tack on one more run in the 5th before the game was called one inning later to claim a 4-0 victory.
The Rox fell to 18-23 on the year. Brockton plays tomorrow night as they travel to Worcester to play the Bravehearts (29-13). The Rox return to Campanelli Stadium on Sunday when they take on the Martha's Vineyard Sharks (17-23). First pitch is at 4:05. Come see the Rox and enjoy Christmas in July and Touch-a-Truck during the game!
