THE MATCH-UP New York hosts Houston on Wednesday in a 7:30 p.m. match-up at The Garden...This will be the second meeting between the two teams in just two weeks ... The Liberty defeated the Comets, 68-65 (OT), in Houston on July 12 ... The Liberty is currently 11-9 (.550) after a 59-47 win in Minnesota on Sunday.

ALL-TIME AGAINST HOUSTON (12-6) New York has won the majority of its regular season games against Houston ... The teams are two of the originals in the WNBA and the Liberty has won 12 of the 18 games the two have played since 1997.

TEAM NOTES MARATHON WOMAN Vickie Johnson has now played the most games of any player in the history of the WNBA ... She has appeared in 268 games over the course of nine years ... Friday's game in Sacramento put Johnson above Andrea Stinson, who has played in 266 games.

REPEAT THE THREE-PEAT New York put together quite a string of wins in the past week ... The team has now picked up three consecutive victories ... The streak is the third time this season that the Liberty has won three straight games ... New York will go for its fourth in a row against the Comets on Wednesday ... If they do so, it will be the first time all season the team will have won four straight.

MI CASA ES SU CASA The Liberty has made itself at home on the road as of late ... Sunday's win in Minnesota was the team's third straight victory away from The Garden ... This marks the first time in 2005 the Liberty has won three consecutive games on the road.

IN THE WIN COLUMN Sunday's win over the Lynx gave the Liberty a winning record on the road ... The team is currently 6-5 away from home so far this season ... This is the first time in 2005 that New York has boasted a winning record on the road.

HAVEN'T WE DONE THIS BEFORE? The Liberty and Comets will face off for the second time in two weeks on Wednesday ... New York defeated the Comets, 68-65 (OT), in Houston on July 12 ... Crystal Robinson and Elena Baranova led the Liberty with 13 points apiece ... Sheryl Swoopes scored 23 to lead the Comets ... Baranova was also the top New York rebounder, as she pulled down nine boards ... Michelle Snow also grabbed nine rebounds for Houston.

ROCKY TOP CONNECTION New York's Loree Moore will go up against a friendly face on Wednesday ... She will play former teammate Michelle Snow ... The two attended the University of Tennessee ... Snow graduated in 2002, while Moore just graduated in 2005 ... The two led the Lady Vols to the Final Four in 2002, the one year they played together.

SO WE MEET AGAIN Vickie Johnson and Sheryl Swoopes are re-convening their meeting of the 3,000 point club ... The players are just two of the nine women in the history of the WNBA to reach 3,000 points in their career ... Johnson has played eight of the nine members of the elite club and is now going back for seconds against Swoopes ... Wednesday she will also face the only member of the 3,000 point club she has not played already ... Houston's Tina Thompson was not active when the Liberty and Comets met earlier this season ... Johnson is 6-4 so far this season against fellow 3,000-ers.

LOVING THE SPOTLIGHT The July 12 match-up between the Liberty and Comets continued New York's perfect record on national television this season ... With the win over Houston on ESPN2, New York is now 3-0 in front of a national audience ... The Liberty picked up wins on June 18 against Phoenix, which was carried on ABC, and June 12 against Detroit, which was broadcast on ESPN2 ... New York will look to make it a perfect 5-0 when both the August 6 game against Seattle and the August 20 game in Connecticut are broadcast on ESPN2.

IN THE MAJORITY July 12's win over the Comets gave the Liberty a winning record in Houston ... Going into the game, New York was 4-4 all-time on the Comets' home court ... The victory put the Liberty at 5-4 in Houston, sending the team above the .500 mark.

HIGH FIVE All five Liberty starters scored in double figures in the win over Houston on July 12 ... It was the only time so far this season that Becky Hammon, Vickie Johnson, Elena Baranova, Ann Wauters and Crystal Robinson have all scored 10 or more points in the same game ... The last time all five Liberty starters scored in double figures was July 20, 2004 against the Charlotte Sting.

ALL TIED UP As an overtime result would indicate, New York's win over Houston on July 12 was as even keeled as could be ... The score was tied nine times in the game, the most in a Liberty game thus far in 2005 ... That mark surpasses the two games the score was tied seven times, on both July 2 in San Antonio and on June 1 in Washington.

FAVORITE DISH Crystal Robinson tied her career high for assists in the game against Houston on July 12 ... She dished out six helpers in the victory over the Comets ... She had previously set that mark on July 1, 2003 against Connecticut.

WORKING BOTH ENDS Elena Baranova dominated both ends of the court in the July 12 game in Houston ... Not only did she drop 13 points, but she also set a season high in steals ...Her three steals in the Comets win was a game high in the contest ... It also surpassed her prior 2005 best of two ... The Liberty is currently 4-1 when Baranova records two or more steals.
