
Silver Stars improve their record, five Stars score in double figures for the fourth time

SILVER STARS - - The Silver Stars saw five players score in double figures for the fourth time this season improving their record to 3-1 in those games.
- San Antonio improved its record to 5-2 when shooting over 45% by connecting on 49.2% (30-61) of its shots from the field. At the same time the Silver Stars connected on 5-of-8 three pointers for a season 62.5% from beyond the arc.
- Shannon Johnson moved 5 assists closer to 1,000 for her career. She currently has 978 assists. Once she reaches 1,000 assists she will become the only player in WNBA to have scored 2,500 points and hand out 1,000 assists.
- Katie Feenstra continued her push for WNBA Rookie of the Year by scoring a game-high 16 points and pulling down 7 rebounds. It was the 11th time she has scored in double figures and the seventh time she has led the team in scoring.
- Marie Ferdinand regained her offensive prowess finishing with 14 points after being limited to just 4 points in her last game vs. Phoenix on 7/23.
- Shyra Ely finished the evening with a career-high 11 points coming off the bench. Over her last five games she has scored 7 or more points in three games.
- After turning the ball over 20 or more times in three of their last four games, the Silver Stars committed only 8 turnovers leading to nine Lynx points.
MINNESOTA LYNX- - Katie Smith continued her offensive struggles scoring just five points in 26 minutes of action. It was the third consecutive game where she failed to score in double digits.
- The Lynx committed a season low 11 turnovers which led to 12 Silver Stars points.
- Tamika Williams scored a season-high 12 points (5-8 fg, 2-2 ft) and tallied seven rebounds and two assists in 27 minutes of play.
- Vanessa Hayden recorded her second career double-double finishing with 10 points and a career-high 11 rebounds in 23 minutes for the Lynx.
- Kristen Mann had a career night scoring a career-high 8 points in just 4 minutes of action.
Minnesota's next game: The Lynx will be at home to take on the Phoenix Mercury on July 29, 2005 at the Target Center at 7:00 pm CST.
San Antonio's next game: The Silver Stars will travel to Washington to play the Mystics at MCI Center at 6:00 pm CST.
