In front of a sellout crowd of 8,276 on Friday, the New York Liberty (29-7) defeated the Connecticut Sun (25-12), 89-58,clinching home court throughout the first two rounds of the 2023 WNBA Playoffs and completing a four-win regular season sweep of the Sun.
This is the Liberty's first regular-season sweep of the Sun since 2016 when they swept their three-game series that season.
At Barclays Center, the Liberty finished on 54.8% (34-62) shooting from the field, 32% (8-25) from three, and 72.2% (13-18) at the free throw line.
New York's 31-point margin of victory tonight marked their largest-ever victory over Connecticut in franchise history.
Tonight's attendance marked New York's sixth sellout crowd of the season.

In her fourth start of the season, Marine Johannès totaled a season-high-tying 18 points on 55.6% (5-9) shooting from the field, including 75% (3-4) from three, three rebounds, and two assists. Tonight marked her fourth game of 18 points in 2023.
Breanna Stewart finished with a near triple-double of 14 points on 63.6% (7-11) shooting from the floor, 10 rebounds, and seven assists. Tonight's 14-point, 10-rebound performance marked her 18th double-double of the season.
Courtney Vandersloot added 13 points on 55.6% (5-9) shooting from the field, five assists, and two steals.
Jonquel Jones totaled 10 points on 40% (4-10) shooting from the floor, seven rebounds, two assists, and two blocks.
For Connecticut, Tiffany Hayes finished with 11 points, two rebounds, and two assists, while Olivia Nelson-Ododa totaled 10 points, four rebounds, and two assists off the bench.
