Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The IronPigs begin the eighth season in franchise history with a seven-game, North Division homestand which starts tonight with Game 1 of a four-game series against the Pawtucket Red Sox, the reigning International League Champions. The IronPigs look to bounce back from a 66-78 record and a sixth-place finish in 2014. The Paw Sox -- Boston's top affiliate -- marched to league title after winning the Wild Card with a 79-65 record and a second-place finish in the IL North a year ago. Pawtucket eventually lost to Omaha, 4-2, in the Gildan Triple-A National Championship Game held at BB&T Ballpark in Charlotte... The challenging, season-opening homestand will conclude with three games against the reigning IL North Champion Syracuse Chiefs (81-62 in 2014)... Tuesday's exhibition game versus Reading was rained out.
LHP Joely Rodriguez (6-11, 4.84 in AA) will start for LHV against LHP Brian Johnson (10-2, 1.75 in AA).
Tonight's Opener features a Cap Giveaway, presented by SECTV. Gates open at 5 p.m. with First Pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
