LHP Phil Pfeifer Placed on Temp. Inactive List, LHP Daniel Lietz to M-Braves from High-A Florida

PENSACOLA, FL - The Atlanta Braves have made the following roster moves affecting the M-Braves roster prior to today's doubleheader in Pensacola. LHP Phil Pfeifer has been placed on the Temporarily Inactive List and LHP Daniel Lietz has been transferred to Mississippi from High-A Florida.

Pfeifer, 23, has a 4.05 ERA (3 ER/6.1 IP) with six walks and seven strikeouts over five relief appearances for the M-Braves this season and posted no record. Pfeifer was transferred to the M-Braves from Triple-A Gwinnett on June 9 after appearing in 18 games for the Stripers, going 0-1 with a 8.10 ERA (24 ER/26.2 IP) with 18 walks and 25 strikeouts. The Knoxville, TN native was acquired by the Braves from the Dodgers on June 30, 2016. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the third round in 2015 out of Vanderbilt.

Lietz, 24, made two scoreless relief appearances for the M-Braves in his first stint in Mississippi from May 27-June 4, striking out three and walking two. Since his transfer to High-A Florida, the Chicago Heights, IL native was 0-1 with a 5.19 ERA (5 ER/8.2 IP), three walks and seven strikeouts for the Fire Frogs. Lietz was signed by the Atlanta Braves on May 3 after spending the first five years of his career with the Toronto Blue Jays organization. Lietz will wear jersey #16 this time around for the M-Braves.

The Mississippi Braves roster currently stands at 23 active players and four on the DL.
