Lemurs See One Slip Away Late

Laredo, TX -ÃâàÃâàThe El Paso Diablos (14-40) score four runs in the top of the ninth going on to beat the Laredo Lemurs (31-21) 6-5 on Friday night at Uni-Trade Stadium.ÃâÃÂ
The Lemurs went into the top of the ninth with a 5-2 lead and closer Mark Haynes coming into pitch.ÃâàThe Diablos showed some patience and earned two walks followed by three hits to tie the game at five.ÃâàÃâÃÂ
That's when Haynes was taken out of the game and replaced with Bradley Blanks.ÃâàBlanks pitched to Diablos left fielder Oscar Mesa who came up with his third hit of the night to drive in the go ahead run from second and give the Diablos a one run lead before the side was retired.ÃâàÃâÃÂ
The Lemurs scored five runs in the first against El Paso's starter Jorge Lugo.ÃâàJimmy Mojica led off the bottom of the first with a walk and Harrison Kain followed with a home run over the left field wall to give the Lemurs and early 2-0 lead.ÃâÃÂ
The scoring would continue in the first with walk to Sawyer Carroll and John Alonso to put runner at first and second.ÃâàThen John Allen came to the plate for his first start in seven games and hit a long home run over the left field wall to put the Lemurs up 5-0 after an inning.ÃâàÃâÃÂ
Mark Haynes (4-1) took the tough loss going two thirds, giving up four runs, on three hits, with two walks.ÃâàÃâÃÂ
Marshall Shuler (4-1) picked up the win throwing two, with one walk and three strikeouts.ÃâÃÂ
The Lemurs are on their longest home stand of the season with the El Paso Diablos, and St. Paul Saints coming to town through July 17th.ÃâÃÂ
