Laredo Lemurs News Release

Laredo, TX -   The El Paso Diablos (15-40) get back-to-back jacks in the fourth to beat the Laredo Lemurs (31-21) 4-3 on Saturday night at Uni-Trade Stadium in Laredo, Texas.

With one out in the fourth, Diablos catcher Moises Montero hit a home run over the left field wall to put them up 4-3 over the Lemurs.  Maikol Gonzalez hit next and he deposited his first home run of the year onto the grass in left to give the Diablos a 4-2 lead after four and a half.

Lemurs third baseman Garrett Buechele hit a solo home run in the seventh off starter Kevin Cooper to bring the Lemurs within one run of the Diablos, but their relief core of Carlos Monasterios and Luis Chirinos would prove to be too tough for the Lemurs in the eighth and ninth.

The Lemurs did see a bright spot out of newcomer Jon Jones.  Jones made his first appearance in a Lemurs uniform going four, giving up one run, with seven strikeouts, while facing 13 batters.

Lemurs starter Michael Suk (1-1) took the loss in his second start of the year, going five, giving up four runs, on six hits, with three strikeouts.

Starter Kevin Cooper (2-1) picked up the win for Diablos, going seven, giving up three runs, on six this, with a walk, and four punch outs.

The Lemurs are on their longest home stand of the season with the El Paso Diablos, and St. Paul Saints coming to town through July 17th.

Single game tickets, season tickets, suite rentals, and group packages are on sale now.  For more information, call the Lemurs' office at 956-7LEMURS or visit the Lemurs' official website at www.laredolemurs.com.
