Lemurs Let One Slip Away

Laredo, TX - Gary SouthShore Railcats (14-17) shortstop Kyle Haines hit an opposite field homerun in the eighth to take the lead and help his team earn the 5-4 victory over the Laredo Lemurs (13-18) at Uni- Trade Stadium on Tuesday night.

The Cats got on the board in the first taking a 1-0 lead with three hits in the inning.

The big inning for the Railcats came in the seventh as they put up three runs in the seventh to tie the game at four a piece and give the Cats life in the game.

The Lemurs offense was led by first baseman Javier Brito as he blasted two homeruns on the night to left centerfield. The two homer night was the first of the season for the Lemurs as he went three for four with three RBI's.

Bradley Blanks (0-1) took the loss as he gave up the homerun in the eighth to Kyle Haines.

Railcats reliever T.J. Wohlever (2-0) earned the victory in relief, throwing a third of an inning and striking out one batter.

Marco Gonzalez (1-0) earned his first save of the year, throwing two, and giving up two hits.
