Texas Legends News Release

BOISE, ID, (Mar. 18, 2015) - The Texas Legends took revenge in Idaho after a tough loss Monday night against the Stampede. Jarrid Famous added his third straight double-double as the Legends powered out a 117-106 victory to split the series in Boise.

Shane Gibson fired off five threes en route to 16 points in the first quarter as the Stampede took a 32-29 lead over the Legends. Texas' Justin Dentmon fired back in the second tallying 12 of his 15 first-half points. The Legends found their shot from outside while Idaho went cold, unable to make a three before halftime. Texas went up by as many as 14, but the Stampede cut the difference to one by the buzzer.

The two teams came out of the locker room cold shooting under 40% from all sides in the third. Nick Wiggins went 3-for-4 to boost Idaho back ahead by eight heading into the final minutes. Trailing 78-86, the Legends went on a 19-4 run to start the fourth quarter. With under two minutes to play, Mike James sunk a long ball that forced the Legends up by 11, seemingly sealing the victory. Idaho fought to rally, narrowing the deficit to six with 45 seconds on the clock, but double free throws from Eric Griffin and a triple-point play from William Buford would send the Legends home with the win.

Dentmon led the Legends with 23 points, 6 assists while Griffin followed closely with 21 points, 11 rebounds. Famous added 18 points, 20 rebounds for his seventh double-double in nine games with the Legends.

Gibson had a game-high 26 points to lead the Stampede. Jerrelle Benimon added the team's only double-double of 21 points, 17 rebounds.

The Legends will travel to Austin next to take on the Spurs at 7pm Friday. Fans can catch all the action live at www.TexLegends.com
