Legends' Strong Offensive Showing Comes up Short to the Kings

FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends (2-3) shot 51% for 122 points but were bested by the Stockton Kings (3-3) who finished with 140 in Frisco Wednesday night.

The two teams exchanged baskets for the first three minutes of play before a 9-0 run by Texas gave them their first lead of the night. Texas built a 10-point gap midway through the quarter, but Stockton answered with a 29-12 streak to the buzzer and never looked back. The visitors opened the second with a long three from Gabe Vincent and held a double-digit advantage until the final two minutes when Texas went a perfect 3-for-3 from the free throw line and cut the gap to nine heading into the locker room.

Josh Reaves opened the third with a triple to lead off Texas' 6-of-7 outside, but the Legends were unable to find an answer for Kyle Guy who had 16 of the visitors' 37 third-quarter points. Facing a 14-point deficit in the fourth, Texas was plagued by the three as the tables turned and Stockton hit 5-of-8 while the Legends slipped to 1-of-7.

Dallas Mavericks two-ways Reaves and Antonius Cleveland combined for 49 points with Reaves knocking down 5-of-8 outside to finish with 26 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals and Cleveland adding 23 points, 7 rebounds and 3 blocks. Xavier Rathan-Mayes (16 points, 3 assists), Dakota Mathias (15 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists), Isaiah Roby (14 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals), and Jaylen Hoard (12 points, 5 rebounds) all added double-digit scores to the Legends' book.

Guy finished with a game-high 34 points, 6 assists to lead Stockton while Gabe Vincent added 31 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists. Cody Demps added 22 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks, and Eric Mika grabbed the game's only double-double with 22 points, 11 rebounds.
